Panama Inshore Fishing In Chiriqui Province

Panama inshore fishing in the Chiriqui area is a must! Located just five minutes from DAVID, Panama's second largest city, the Chiriqui River empties into a vast mangrove estuary that offers the light tackle and fly angler some fantastic inshore sport. Snook, Pompano, and a variety of spirited Jacks and Snappers are among the many other willing species that invite aggressive, tackle-busting action. We offer light tackle fishing but if you want to bring along your fly rod, you are welcome.

The islands that surround the area are loaded with 20 - 70 pound Cubera Snapper, 15 - 80 pound Roosterfish, and some huge Amber Jack. Shark fishing is also outstanding for Bulls. We have long, light-tackle rods equipped with Spectra braided line to halt big Snapper and Roosters in their tracks. You can throw weighted poppers close to the rocks, just like fresh water Bass fishing. But these are not bass and they will tear the rod right out of your hands if you are not careful!

Close to shore, we might find wahoo and mahi mahi as well. They are often found in unbelievably shallow water allowing some fun, light tackle action.
